50-Disputations on the False Religion of Islam, Section 1

Dr. Mike Petillo

1.     If Islam makes up twenty-percent of the population as the second largest religion in the world, why have they rejected the clear testimony of the infallible Scriptures in the exclusivity of the eternal Son of Man (see Acts 4:12)?

2.     Islam teaches that mankind is good by nature, but the inerrant Bible teaches that mankind is completely no good (Rom. 3ff).

3.     Islam teaches that God is a singular unity, but denies and rejects the Triune Majesty in the infallible Word (Mt 28:19).

4.     Islam teaches sin is merely rejecting right guidance, but the God-breathed Word of God teaches that mankind has violated every point of the moral law of God (Js 2:10) as completely corrupt sinners (Ps 53ff).

5.     Islam teaches repentance with no atonement, but the infallible Word teaches that repentance is only through Christ crucified (Mk 1:15; Jn 19:30).

6.     Repentance in itself cannot save anyone, but it must be through the exclusivity of the Incarnate Savior and Redeemer.

7.     It is possible to turn away from sin to idols made with human hands, but the inerrant Word teaches that the one true God is the Three in One and the One in Three.  That is, we must turn to Him alone.

8.     Not just any atonement will spiritually avail, but the exclusivity of the atonement of Jesus Christ alone.

9.     Do not reject atonement through Christ alone, because it is the only way to rid you of complete unrighteousness.

10. If no atonement is necessary, why did Jesus say that the Good Shepherd lays down His life for His friends in order to be right with God?   That is, we desperately need a divine substitute in our behalf because it is the only way to be spiritually clean.

11. If the Triune Lord is rejected, how is Allah a better alternative when he is not eternally self-existent (without being a god made by human religion) like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit alone?

12. If the exclusivity of Christ alone as Savior is rejected, how is Muhammad a better alternative when Jesus is the sinless God-man?

13. If we are totally depraved by nature, how is the lack of the necessity of atonement better in light of real radical corruption?

14. If sin is merely the thought of rejecting right guidance, why does it cause spiritual, supernatural and complete death that requires the necessity of God’s divine intervention?

15. If sin is rejecting right guidance, why does God’s infallible Word clearly say that the sinner is in cosmic, complete and spiritual rebellion against a holy God?

16. If sin is merely rejecting right guidance, why are sinners completely alienated from Him?

17. The infallible Scriptures clearly teach that a supernatural, exclusive, efficacious, and necessary atonement of Jesus alone is required for a holy relationship with God.

18. Islam teaches spiritual salvation is through good deeds outweighing bad deeds through human effort, but the inspired Word clearly says that our deeds by nature are thoroughly tainted with complete sin and the so-called good deeds we do are the same civil goodness for the residents of the bottomless pit in eternal hell.  That is, sinners need the untainted unified imputed righteousness of Christ alone in how someone is right with God by faith alone.

19. Spiritual salvation is not through human effort, but by God’s choice alone according to His good pleasure alone in the outworking of His divine providence alone at His appointed time alone not of works.

20. How can good deeds outweigh bad deeds when the only thing that proceeds out of mankind outside of Christ is solely wickedness?

21. If mankind has the spiritual ability to do good deeds outside of Christ, haven’t you mislaid your former certainties in light of the wicked incomprehensiblity of mankind’s abominable heart in light of divine revelation in God’s holy Word?

22. The standard for holiness is not through human effort.  Rather the standard of holiness is God’s matchless and superlative and perfect holiness.  That is, the only matchless purity is the unified robes of divine righteousness of Christ alone that is supernaturally imputed to the regenerate sinner by faith alone.

23. God never grades on a curve.  That is, a sinner must have the perfect merit of Christ alone in their behalf or he is eternally lost.

24. God never compromises His perfect holiness.  That is, how will you stand before God in your sin-tainted garments that are merely filthy rages before a holy God?

25. God’s standard is perfect holiness.  How then shall the civil goodness soiled in sin avail before the sole immaculate holiness of God?

26. No one can save themselves.  That is, spiritual salvation cannot be earned by sinners.  We have nothing to offer a holy God but sin, because a leper cannot change his spots by nature.  How will your sin save you at the Last Day?

27. Don’t your bad deeds demonstrate to you your complete and desperate need for Jesus Christ as the only Lord and Redeemer?

28. If you have ever committed bad deeds, doesn’t it utterly show you your cosmic and spiritual need for God’s unified and divine grace alone not of works of human effort?

29. If you have sinned, why not turn to the One who has all the sin of His people alone applied to Him alone at the Cross at Calvary for how you are right with God in divinely taking away your sin?

30. If it is blasphemy to call Jesus the eternal Son of God, why does the perfect Word of Truth call Him thus?

31. Islam believes in the miracles of Jesus Christ with no avail to spiritual salvation.  That is, the miracles of Jesus by themselves cannot save except by the divine intervention of God’s Spirit and Word in radically changing the heart and mind.  The miracles of Jesus were never meant to save, but bore witness of His matchless deity.

32. If Jesus Christ is the One and Only eternal Son of God, why not embrace Him as the only way to be right with a holy God?

33. Why do you deny God the Son in taking upon Himself human form in the virginal conception of the Virgin Mary by the overshadowing of the Spirit of God, when the infallible Word says that if you deny that Jesus is the eternal Christ you are antichrist?  That is, how can an antichrist be a spiritual believer of Abraham?

34. If you deny that Jesus is God the Son, the infallible Word says you deny the Father and the Son.  That is, if you deny Jesus you deny God the Father.  I am not saying they are the same Persons.   Rather the Father and the Son is co-equal but eternally distinct in the Godhead.

35. If Jesus did not die on the Cross according to Islamic tradition, where will you find a once-and-for-all sacrifice for the sins of God’s people alone but through the eternal Son of God?

36. If Jesus merely ascended into heaven, how do you explain the historical death of Jesus in the New Testament Scriptures?

37. Why do ancient writers in the middle of the first century refer to the alleged but real darkness at the real crucifixion of Jesus Christ that is recorded in the historical New Testament?

38. If the actual death of the eternal Son of God did not happen according to Islamic tradition, why does the Old Testament Scriptures predict in prophetic but historical detail the real death of Jesus Christ?

39. If Judas Iscariot died on the Cross in place of Jesus Christ according to Islamic tradition, why does the Old Testament predict his death and replacement in the office of the apostleship?  The Bible never refers to the replacement of Jesus Christ because He is solely impeccable.  Why do the New Testament Scriptures refer to Judas Iscariot as someone who committed real suicide (he took his own life) through the historical Book of Acts from the account of the Apostle Peter?

40. If it is disrespectful to embrace the Cross of Christ in light of the honor of Jesus according to Islam, why do the New Testament Scriptures speak of the supremacy and centrality of the Cross in how someone is right with God with no human additions or subtractions?

41. How do you explain the detailed prophecy of Isaiah chapter 53 that speaks of the agonizing and atoning crucifixion of the eternal Son of God in taking the place of God’s elect people alone?

42. If Jesus died a physical death according to all of the relevant infallible Scriptures, why deny it in light of mere man-made tradition?

43. The real death of Jesus was a substitutionary atonement in behalf of God’s people who respond through the choice of God alone.

44. The actual death of Jesus was an intended mission by the design of God the Father to save God’s elect people alone through the application of the Spirit in applying particular redemption to God’s chosen people.  That is, He saves all of the elect alone.

45.                        Islam denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus in light of their denial of the Cross of Jesus (without the Cross the resurrection cannot happen), but how can one honestly dismiss the infallible Word in light of the physical but immortal resurrection of the eternal God-man in verifying the person and work of Jesus Christ in how someone is right with God?

46. The infallible Word says that the bodily risen Christ appeared to hundreds of witnesses that demonstrate that He alone is the only way to a holy God in justification by faith alone.

47. We cannot get right with God through keeping the moral law.  Rather we must possess by faith alone the heavenly untainted righteousness of Christ alone accounted to us.  The divine merit of Christ alone is foreign to the mere civil goodness of this crooked and wicked world.

48. Islam denies the Cross of Jesus through ant-Scriptural tradition, but how can it be so easily set aside that the eternal Incarnate Word voluntarily gave His life for His chosen sheep alone in the historical record of the infallible written Word?

49. Islam wrongly asserts that Jesus’ death at the Cross is dishonoring to God for how someone is right with a holy God, but how is that the legitimate case when the Cross of Jesus is the essence of glory in light of the redemptive reality that Jesus gave His life for the exalted and only imputed and divine righteousness for how a sinner is right with God?  Jesus was lifted up like the serpent in the OT Scriptures, but how sinners miss the glory of Jesus at His highest act of obedience at the Cross in His submissive work at His Cross in the design of His Father.  How also sinners miss that Jesus was highly exalted in His death-providing righteousness, His bodily resurrection and His glorious bodily ascension for the glory of the Father.

50. The Quran is demonstrated to be a corrupted unholy book, but the OT and NT Scriptures is the solely divinely authentic, inspired, inerrant and infallible written Word of God alone for how a sinner is right with a perfect God and the demonstration of godly living in the presence of the one true Triune God of the written Scriptures.
