95-Disputations on Ezekiel 1:3 and the Hand of the Lord

By Dr. M.A. Petillo & Reformed Baptist Preacher

“…the word of the LORD came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, son of Buzi, in the land of Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and there the hand of the LORD came upon him…”  (Ezekiel 1:3 NASB).

1.     The written Word of God is the sole 66 Books of the Scriptures.

2.     The written Word is contained in the Book of Ezekiel because of the authentic, genuine and divine superintendence of the Spirit.

3.     The handwriting in Divine Scripture is through holy men of old that were led by the Spirit of God in God-breathed inspiration.

4.     The written Word of God in the Christian Scripture is without error in the original manuscripts by the Spirit of God.

5.     The written Scriptures are the supremely and all-exclusively the infallible written Word that teaches us about how we are right with a holy Triune God and foredetermined but non-meritorious Christian living that is gift of His Hand.

6.     The Quran does not possess the living word of God like the Bible because the Spirit of God did not superintend it.

7.     L. Ron Hubbard of the Church of Scientology authored books that their church claims is the word of God but again their writings are cult of occultism in approbation of a rejection of the apostolic message of repentance and faith where the Bible calls all men everywhere to repent and bow in adoration to Jesus Christ.

8.     If the word of God is inerrant, what book compares to it?

9.     If the word of God is infallible, what book is like it?

10.                        If the word of God is inspired, what book is equal to it?

11.                        God’s divine message is uniquely to His specific people.

12.                        The Triune Lord expressly meant the word to be to Ezekiel.

13.                        The word of God came to Ezekiel because he was trustworthy.

14.                        The word of God is superlatively divine because of the Spirit.

15.                        The word of God is superlatively holy because of the Holy Ghost.

16.                        The Author of Scripture is God Himself in the Father’s design through His Son by the Holy Ghost.

17.                        God authored every word in His divine Scriptures so we may learn about His divine truth by His Spirit and His Word.

18.                        God authored every jot and tidal of the divine Scriptures.

19.                        If God authored Scripture, why do you not heed it completely?

20.                        If God authored the word of God, why do fallen sinners constantly disobey it because of rebellion against the essence of holy innocence of a Triune God?

21.                        The word of God is pure words of God like fresh water in a stream that supports the peace of God.

22.                        The word of God is trustworthy words of God because they are shown to be from a holy God and His design by His Spirit.

23.                        God does not Author confusion, falsehood or error.

24.                        God does not Author confusion because He is truly consistently and consistently true without violating the law of contradiction.

25.                        God does not Author falsehood because He is Triune Truth.

26.                        God does not Author error because He only supports the approbation of the words of the Spirit of truth.

27.                        The word of God is all about truth because it is by the God of the truth that does not need to be taken away or added to.

28.                        The transformation of God’s word in exegetical preaching is all about the supremacy and centrality of God’s written Word by His Spirit in His divine truth because it is all about God and His glory in glorifying Jesus Christ because all of Scripture is about Him.

29.                        If the word of God is infallible it is a word that cannot be broken.

30.                        The glory of God’s word is the essence of His character.

31.                        The essence of His character is about the centrality of the Son.

32.                        If the word of God is not about God’s glory and His Son what could it possibly be about if we do not see the eternal Son everywhere in the God-breathed Scriptures?

33.                        God’s word is expressly given to His people in edification unto election or to the reprobates in accursedness unto damnation.

34.                        God’s Spirit holds us in His hand that produced the word of God in Ezekiel’s Book to bring to life those dry bones of unregenerate men where only the Scriptural Word of God has the power to bring the dead to life by His Spirit.

35.                        Ezekiel was a excellent prophet of God but even as a priest he fails to be the sinless High Priest like Jesus Christ in being the SUBJECT and OBJECT of redemptive suffering that is centered in the crux of the Cross of the Incarnate High Priest.

36.                        The word of God came when God’s Hand embraced Ezekiel.

37.                        Buzi was the father of Ezekiel but the Father of lights is the Father of His elect people who possess the gift of faith by His Spirit and Word.

38.                        The Hand of God brings divine revelation to His chosen through the God-breathed Books of His matchless Word.

39.                        The Hand of God is the Hand of the Father.

40.                        The Hand of God is the Hand of the Son.

41.                        The Hand of God is the Hand of the Spirit.

42.                        There is a Triune Grip on God’s elect people alone unto preservation of the chosen saints of the Father’s design through the Son who know Him by the spiritual awakening of the Spirit and the Word.

43.                        There will never be a priest like Ezekiel because the biblical times are the unaddable and unmatchable times where God was pleased to record a record of God-breathed writings to teach the lambs of His pasture justification by faith alone and godly living.

44.                        God shapes us in His Hand concerning spiritual salvation.

45.                        God’s Hand shapes the unborn children to a new born baby.

46.                        God’s Hand writes the Handwriting on the Wall that teaches us about the Spirit’s divine revelation contained in His written Word alone for spiritual betterment, furtherance and development in progressive sanctification in dying to sin but living to Jesus in a practical sense that reflects a positional truth in a shattered image of radical corruption, total depravity and original sin.

47.                        Chaldea is the county where Babylon was the capital.  But, why is this important?   It is important because it shows an ancient history where other books of so-called “revelation” do not have the precise details of when it was written but a supposed conjecture that is devoid of history, theology and true revelation.

48.                        Babylon was identified as “Babel” because of the Tower of Babel where God confused the languages, but what does it mean that God confused that language of ancient people if He is not the God of confusion?

49.                        It is like saying a sinless God “repents” but does a sinless God repent?  By no means!

50.                        It means He condescends to us in “lisping” to our fallen state.  If we cannot understand earthly things how can we understand heavenly things?

51.                        God caused the languages to be confused as the First Cause by a holy act to stop an idolatrous unity to exalt about the divine majesty of God by turning an ungodly people over to confusion as the fallen second cause.

52.                        Jesus is the Incarnate River of Life that brings peace to His people by the work of the Spirit and the Word.

53.                        A holy God used Ezekiel to teach people of God’s glory.

54.                        God’s glory is properly described by those He has chosen to write about His awesome glory in glorious splendor.

55.                        Why should we doubt that Ezekiel wrote the Book of Ezekiel?  There is good evidence to suggest that Ezekiel wrote this book because it identifies him as the priest who witnessed the glory of God alone to further His plan in the display of His providence.

56.                        Divine revelation is about the Father’s design.

57.                        Divine revelation is through the unified work of the Son.

58.                        Divine revelation is by the regenerating and sanctifying work of the Spirit of God in God’s written Word in spiritual application of God’s dear Son.

59.                        The Hand of God has the divine, supernatural and powerful ability to heal fallen sinners as He is pleased to do according to His good pleasure.

60.                        The glory of God is according to God’s good pleasure.

61.                        The good pleasure of God is about superlative holiness.

62.                        Superlative holiness is about the Triune Glory to His chosen.

63.                        The Triune Glory of God is the outcome of God’s perfect character revealed in His divine Word.

64.                        The Father’s design for all of the elect is to mold us into Jesus’ image without becoming Jesus but the conformity to Jesus by His Spirit and Word.

65.                        The Son’s unified work is meant to solely glorify Himself through the fallen sinner but it is all about Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone in how a sinner is right with a holy God.

66.                        The Spirit’s work of is to bring the gift of His Son to His chosen.

67.                        The glory of God is immeasurable in the Triune Glory of Himself.

68.                        The glory of the Father is the unified work of the Son.

69.                        The glory of the Son is about the design of the Father.

70.                        The design of the Father through the Son is applied by the Spirit.

71.                        A calm river brings peace like Jesus Christ who brings peace to His elect chosen ones by the Spirit and the Word.

72.                        A river provides aid to living things but Jesus is the Incarnate Living Water where there is no longer spiritual thirst in positional truth through His non-fictional imputation of His unified merits in the all-exclusive glory of the Son.

73.                        The glory of the Father is His holy character.

74.                        The glory of the Son is His holy character.

75.                        The glory of the Spirit is His holy character.

76.                        God shapes all things through His holy character.

77.                        His holy character brings about a “baby talk” in revelation.

78.                        The word of God brings divine revelation that comes about with the handwriting of God through holy men of old about how to be right with God and set apart Christian living.

79.                        God gets glory through justification by faith alone.

80.                        God gets glory through Christian living as a gift of His hand.

81.                        Ezekiel was a no good sinner but a holy Triune God used him to see the revelation of the God-breathed visions of God where the canon is closed in the 66 Books of the unbreakable Scripture.

82.                        Ezekiel was not subject to error in the Book of Ezekiel because of the authentic, divine, supernatural and real superintendence of God’s holy, divine and matchless Word in written form where it is a Book that is a Love Letter to His people and a Manual Book of justification by Christ alone and foredetermined good as a gift of His Triune Hand for His Triune Glory.

83.                        The Father’s motive in visions of God is always right.

84.                        God’s motive is whatsoever is right unto justice or mercy.

85.                        The Bible is all-unaddable and all-sufficient in justification by Christ alone and godly living unto His glory.

86.                        The Bible is the sole infallible authority for how we are right with a holy God and holiness in practical righteousness.

87.                        There should not be doubt that Ezekiel possessed the contrite fear of God in possession of the gift of faith and the unified imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ alone because the imputation of Christ goes back from the Cross and goes forward from the Cross to those who are chosen by the Spirit in exaltation of His Word.

88.                        The words of God are expressly spoken to Ezekiel.

89.                        The Apostle John was given expressed words of divine revelation in exile to be a divine record of His written Word.

90.                        The gift of biblical prophecy is contained in 66 Books of the Bible alone (Sola Scriptura): namely, the Scriptures are the sole infallible God-breathed authority in all matters respecting the authority of supreme importance of authentic divine revelation.

91.                        The gift of visions of God is all about the Scriptures alone and no other vision adds to it but false visions contradict the Bible and true realizations of God though a time of cessation of the rarity of God’s miracles are all about confirmation of His written Word.

92.                        The gift of the Hand of God is always at work but His record of supernatural, God-breathed revelation has ceased in the completion of God’s foredetermined completion of the canon.

93.                        Those dry bones always mock the visions of God that are done by the Hand of God that display God’s holiness in authentic revelation of His decree.

94.                        The gift of prophecy was never given to someone outside the Bible after the Spirit completed His work of supernatural revelation from Old to New Testament.

95.                        The gift of prophecy was applied by the Spirit of God.
