25-Disputations on the Cosmic Warfare of the Spiritual Context of Sovereignty

Dr. MA Petillo

God is our refuge and our strength,
Our ever present aid,
And, therefore, though the earth remove,
We will not be afraid;
Though hills amidst the seas be cast,
Though foaming waters roar,
Yea, though the mighty billows shake
The mountains on the shore.
A river flows whose streams make glad
The city of our God,
The holy place wherein the Lord
Most high has his abode;
Since God is in the midst of her,
Unmoved her walls shall stand,
For God will be her early help,
When trouble is at hand.
The nations raged, the kingdoms moved,
But when his voice was heard
The troubled earth was stilled to peace
Before his mighty word.
The Lord of hosts is on our side,
Our safety to secure,
The God of Jacob is for us
A refuge strong and sure.
O come, behold what wondrous works
Jehovah's hand has wrought;
Come, see what desolation great
He on the earth has brought.
To utmost ends of all the earth
He causes war to cease;
The weapons of the strong destroyed,
He makes abiding peace.
Be still and know that I am God,
O'er all exalted high;
The subject nations of the earth
My name shall magnify.
The Lord of Hosts is on our side,
Our safety to secure,
The God of Jacob is for us
A refuge strong and sure.  (TH, 37).

1.  Fallen man desires to have absolute sovereignty.

2.  Fallen man wants to be the greatest and the supreme.

3.  Fallen Lucifer wants to have divine sovereignty.

4.  The misplaced context of God's fallen creatures is the treason of cosmic idolatry touching the context of sovereignty.

5.  Fallen Lucifer wants to be served and worshiped as God.

6.  Fallen man also wants to have absolute authority as God.

7.  Both the fall of Lucifer and man is because of idolatry.

8.  Both the fall of Lucifer and man is a matter of sovereignty.

9.  God alone caused the fall of Lucifer in His foredetermined purpose, because nothing is out of His control and everything has a God-intended meaning behind it for justice.

10.  The reason a holy God created Lucifer and caused his destined fall was because God made him for absolute justice in his sentenced existence to damnation and the place of hell forever without intermission.

11.  The reason a holy God created fallen man and caused his destined fall was because He would separate the sheep from the goats: namely, the sheep are intended for divine mercy and the goats are intended for divine justice.  Whether for mercy or for justice, Jesus Christ is given glory.

12.  Fallen Lucifer wants allegiance from every tribe, tongue, people and nation from man and the Triune God Himself.

13.  Fallen man with an emphasis of touching an unregenerate state also wants allegiance with Satan behind the scene to exalt his limited yet powerful scheme.

14.  Fallen Lucifer blow it after he was created but a holy Triune God teaches us not to pursue youthful idolatries.

15.  Adam blow it after he was created but a holy Triune God saves His chosen from every tribe, tongue, people and nation.

16.  Satanic warfare is the basic furtherance of a deception on the context of sovereignty.

17.  Satan is restrained by a holy Triune God, but in self-deception he always seeks to rise above a holy God.

18.  A holy Triune God has soverenignly decided (without being the author of sin) to turn the father of lies over to himself.  This means he has the abiding presence of absolute wrath upon him as he roams about all over the earth.

19.  A holy Triune God has absolutely decided (without being the author of sin) to turn fallen man by nature over to themselves.   For some He works out His purpose for salvation unto election or condemnation unto damnation.

20.  The fallen nature of sinners cannot save man in and of themselves, but leads us to rebellion and running away from a holy Triune God.

21.  The fallen nature of Satan cannot save anyone in and of himself, but he will seek to usurp the absolute and sovereign nature of a Triune God.  For example, Satan knew 4, 000 years ago at the time of Incarnate Deity that Jesus was to die for His people.  We see Satan advance the cause of the interests of men, but he advances it through St. Peter.  He rebuked Jesus Christ so He would not die.  This is one example of how Satan works.  We also see him use Judas to kill the innocent Lamb.  Satan did not mean to further the public ministry of Jesus.  Rather he sought to further sin, but Jesus Christ is Incarnate Sovereignty.  That is, He alone has the right to do whatever He wants with His fallen creation.  Do you catch that?  Satan does not come to imitate the holiness of Jesus.  Rather Satan seeks to masquerade about the eternal self-existence of Jesus Christ.  What does that mean?  Eternal self-existence means Jesus Christ as the Second Person of the Trinity is from everlasting to everlasting.  That is, touching the deity of Jesus Christ as God the Son, He always existed in the Triune fellowship and friendship of the Eternal Godhead with the God the Father and God the Spirit.

22.  Satan is not a god in anyway whatsoever, because the very definition of "godhood" is eternal self-existence.  That means no creation whether man or angel can bear the title rightly "god."   This is the same problem with Mormons: namely, they do not have a right teaching of the meaning of what it really means to be god.

23.  The only Being who has the power of Being is the eternal Father, eternal Son and eternal Spirit.

24.  There is no fourth member of the Triune Majesty.  For the new Balaam to promote this evil idolatry is only for the pursuit of the furtherance of the schemes of Satan and his allegiance.  The real place for such a doctrinal stench is not the reformers like John Hus.  Rather it is the perversion of Romanism and the wickedness of the Papists.

25.  The deception of the sovereignty of sinners and Satan is the cosmic offense and injury to a perfect and innocent Creator and King.

Trembling soul, beset by fears,
"Thy God reigneth!"
Look above and dry thy tears:
"Thy God reigneth!"
Though thy foes with power assail,
Naught against thee shall prevail;
Trust in him, he'll never fail:
"Thy God reigneth! Thy God reigneth!"
Sinful soul, thy debt is paid;
"Thy God reigneth!"
On the Lord thy sins were laid;
"Thy God reigneth!"
On the cross of Calvary,
Jesus shed his blood for thee,
From all sin to set thee free:
"Thy God reigneth! Thy God reigneth!"
Seeking soul, to Jesus turn;
"Thy God reigneth!"
None that seek him will he spurn;
"Thy God reigneth!"
Wandering sheep the Shepherd seeks,
And when found he ever keeps,
For he slumbers not nor sleeps:
"Thy God reigneth! Thy God reigneth!"
Join, ye saints, the truth proclaim,
"Thy God reigneth!"
Shout it forth with glad acclaim,
"Thy God reigneth!"
Zion, wake! the morn is nigh,
See it break from yonder sky;
Loud and clear the watchmen cry:
"Thy God reigneth! Thy God reigneth!"
Church of Christ, awake, awake!
"Thy God reigneth!"
Forward, then, fresh courage take:
"Thy God reigneth!"
Soon, descending from his throne,
He shall claim thee for his own;
Sin shall then be overthrown:
"Thy God reigneth! Thy God reigneth!"  (TH, 670).
