33-Disputations on the Exclusivity of the Real and True Trinitarian Nature of God in the Plain Testimony of the Inerrant Word of Superlative Truth

 Dr. MA Petillo

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, Holy, Holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, Holy, Holy, all the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, Holy, Holy, though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee
Perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy Name, in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy, merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!  (TH, 87).

1.  The infallible Word teaches the nature of the Triune Godhead.

2.  Salvation is the exclusivity of the Blessed and Holy Trinity.

3.  There is no salvation for those who reject the Trinity.

4.  God is revealed in Three in One and One in Three: the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit in the clear testimony of His written Word.

5.  The nature of God as Triune does not contradict monotheism.

6.  Trinitarianism denies the heresy of Modalism of TD Jakes and Phillips, Craig and Dean.

7.  Trinitarianism denies the teaching of Modalism, because it denies the simplicity of the real distinctions of the Godhead.

8.  Trinitarianism denies the heresy of Unitarianism, because it denies that one God is revealed in Three distinct Persons.

9.  Trinitarianism denies the heresy of Polytheism, because it denies the one essence of the nature of God.

10.  Trinitarianism denies the heresy of Henotheism, because the biblical viewpoint on the meaning of the nature of God is eternal self-existence.

11.  The Holy Father as the only God the Father is eternally self-existent.

12.  The Incarnate Second Person of the Trinity is eternally self-existent.

13.  The Holy Spirit is eternally self-existent.

14.  God the Father is a real distinct Person in the Triune Godhead.

15.  God the Son is a real distinct Person in the Triune Godhead.

16.  God the Spirit is a real distinct Person in the Triune Godhead.

17.  The Holy Trinity is involved in the work of redemption, creation and history.

18.  Trinitarianism denies the heresy of Tritheism, because the real Three Persons are distinct but not separate.

19.  Jehovah's Witnesses deny the real deity of Jesus Christ, because they are spiritually blinded and have no salvation.

20.  True doctrine is necessary for salvation, but it does not save.  False doctrine is evidence of damnation.  However, it is possible to have the intellectual knowledge in true doctrine without having real salvation.   Does it mean to believe whatever you think?  No, no!  Again: have you not heard that prayer is necessary for salvation, but it cannot save anyone?  In the same way, true doctrine is necessary for salvation, but it does not have the power to save.  Who has the power to save?  God alone!

21.  Mormonism denies the self-existence of the Triune God, but the Bible teaches the real Trinitarian nature of God.

22.  Oneness Pentecostalism ends up denying the real deity of Jesus Christ, but there is no Scriptural support for this in their teaching in the plain testimony of the infallible Scriptures.

23.  The Three in One and One in Three is not a three-headed God.

24.   The real existence of God the Father is seen in the history of the infallible New Testament Scriptures in the co-equal yet submissive Person of the eternal Son of God in His prayers to the Father in John chapter 17.

25.  There are three economic distinctions in the Triune Godhead.

26.  The Father is the First Person of the Trinity.

27.  The Son is the Second Person of the Trinity.

28.  The Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity.

29.  The Three in One and One in Three are co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent.  There is a real friendship and fellowship in the Triune Godhead between the Three Persons.

30.   God is One in Essence and Three in Person.

31.  The superintendence of the Bible is a Triune work.

32.  The predestinarian work of God in salvation is a Triune work.

33.  It was the Father's will to have Incarnate Deity (fully God and fully man) live a perfect life and a die a perfect death in the approbation of the Spirit in the display of God's foredetermined purpose for His glory and purpose.

O Trinity, most blessed Light,
O Unity of sov'reign might,
As now the fiery sun departs,
Shed thou thy beams within our hearts.
To thee our morning song of praise,
To thee our evening prayer we raise;
Thee may our glory evermore
In lowly reverence adore.
All praise to God the Father be,
All praise, eternal Son, to thee,
Whom with the Spirit we adore
For ever and for evermore.  (TH, 339).
